Tuition for California residents at the College of the Siskiyous remained steady during the 2022-23 school year, as reported in the most recent disclosure, according to the latest disclosure from the National Center for Education Statistics.

Students from California paid $1,444 to attend the two-year public college in both the 2021-22 and 2022-23 academic years.

Non-resident students faced tuition costs 581.7% higher than those for in-state students in 2022-23, amounting to $9,844. This represented a 3.1% increase from the $9,544 charged in the previous academic year.

Approximately 89% of the undergraduate student body are California residents. Students from other states make up about 6%, while international students account for 4%.

Among full-time undergraduates who began studies at the College of the Siskiyous in 2022-23, 57% received some form of financial aid. Seventy students were awarded grants or scholarships totaling $433,169, and 16 students borrowed more than $76,211 in student loans.

Overall, 469 undergraduates benefited from grants or scholarships amounting to $2.5 million. Additionally, 75 students obtained federal student loans totaling $462,432.

Meanwhile, student loan debt has steadily increased over the last 30 years, reaching $1.75 trillion in 2024, averaging a total of $28,950 per borrower. Federal loans make up 92% of the debt, with over half of students at both public and private four-year colleges graduating with student loans.
