Tehama County ranked last among counties in California by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The median income of Tehama County residents was $23,061 per year, adjusted for inflation. It had 24,189 households with a population of 63,912.

The county with the highest median resident income in the state was San Mateo County with $49,128 per year after adjusting for inflation – $26,067 more than Tehama County. It had 263,543 households with a population of 767,423.
