6.5% of citizens unemployed in Shasta County in 2021

Shasta County recorded an unemployment rate of 6.5% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 5,274 people out of the 181,935 living in Shasta County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Shasta County has increased compared to the 5.9% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Shasta County was nearly equal to the statewide unemployment rate of 6.5%.

Of the 75,611 people who had a job during that time, 66 were employed in the Armed Forces and 75,545 belonged to the civilian labor force.
