Enrollment at Scott Valley Unified School District increased by 1.1% compared to previous school year

Scott Valley Unified School District's schools enrolled 622 students in the 2022-23 school year, 1.1% more than the previous year, according to the California Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 52.9% of them were boys, and 47% were girls.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, making up 58.7% of the Scott Valley Unified School District's total enrollment.

Scott Valley Unified School District covers five schools within Siskiyou County with its main office in Fort Jones.

Among the five schools in Scott Valley Unified School District, Etna Union High School recorded the highest enrollment of 180 students in the 2022-23 school year.

In the last decade, enrollment in California elementary and secondary schools rose by at least 5%, while high school enrollment dropped 5%.

However, overall enrollment in California public schools is sliding, and the Public Policy Institute of California expects it to drop another 8% by the 2031-32 school year.
