CDCR proposes permanent early release regulations for violent criminals

The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) is considering making permanent the governor's COVID-19 emergency early-release regulations. These changes would affect violent criminals and repeat offenders. The public comment period for this proposal ends on April 13, 2022.

Comments can be submitted via email to RPMB@cdcr.ca.gov or by mail to the CDCR Regulation and Policy Management Branch at P.O. Box 942883, Sacramento, CA 94283-0001.

A public hearing will take place on April 14, 2022. The teleconference will be open to the public at 10 a.m., and those interested in participating can call in at 1-877-411-9748 using participant code 6032676.

California's 1st Senate District includes parts of Alpine, El Dorado, Lassen, Modoc, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sacramento, Sierra, Siskiyou, Shasta counties as well as portions of Tehama, Butte, Colusa, and Glenn counties.
