This week, Senator Brian Dahle expressed gratitude for the sacrifices made by military personnel, acknowledging their role in preserving American freedoms. "Thank you does not seem enough to express our gratitude, but thank you for your service," he stated.
As the holiday season approaches, Senator Dahle shared several legislative and district-related updates. The California Chamber of Commerce recently rated him as the most pro-business senator in 2021. He highlighted his commitment to voting on policies that expedite goods movement, retain businesses in California, and keep businesses open while ensuring employment.
Additionally, the California Student Aid Commission reported that 5,707 students from California’s 1st Senate District received Cal Grants during the 2019-2020 academic year, totaling $30,459,562. "I’m thrilled that higher education dreams and goals are being fulfilled," said Dahle. He noted that financial aid options are available based on various criteria such as need and academic success.
The California State Water Board announced grants and loans to improve water and wastewater systems in communities like Herlong, South Lake Tahoe, and Jones Valley within the 1st Senate District. Dahle emphasized the challenges faced by rural systems with limited staff and expressed appreciation for those serving their communities.
Dahle also addressed food insecurity during the holiday season. He provided a list of food pantry and assistance resources throughout the district and encouraged constituents to contact his office if they know of programs that should be included.
