Trinity County has released the Final Public Review Draft Community Plans, moving forward with its General Plan 2050. The release marks an important point in the county’s planning process, with adoption of the final General Plan expected by late 2026.

The updated draft plans incorporate recommendations from both the Trinity County Board of Supervisors and the Planning Commission. These updates are based on input collected during General Plan Study Sessions held in June 2025, as well as community feedback from workshops in September and additional comments submitted online or by email after June.

The Trinity County General Plan 2050 will serve as a long-term guide for growth and development in the area. Once adopted, it will help shape decisions about land use, health and safety, and natural resource conservation.

A key section of the plan contains eight individual community plans tailored to address specific local needs across Trinity County. Topics include land use, environmental features unique to each community, hazards and safety issues, and public facilities.

After adoption, these community plans will work alongside countywide policies to guide future development while meeting both broad goals and local priorities. The plans remain consistent with overall objectives set out in the General Plan.

Residents are invited to review the Final Public Review Draft Community Plans and participate in the ongoing planning process. The documents are available on the Trinity County General Plan 2050 website at https://trinity2050.com/communityplans.html.
