16th Minds Matter Mental Health Resource Fair Promotes Wellness and Support

The 16th annual Minds Matter Mental Health Resource Fair is set to take place at Lake Redding Park Pavilion & Gazebo in Redding, California on May 4, 2024. The event aims to promote wellness and support for mental health in the community.

Attendees are encouraged to "Find your light and build your path to wellness" at the free, family-friendly event. The fair offers various activities, including opportunities to "Talk with mental health and substance use treatment providers," participate in mini workshops, and get creative at the arts, crafts, and rock painting nook. Additionally, individuals can showcase their talents at the open mic event.

The schedule of activities includes the Resource Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., where attendees can engage with service providers and artists. The "Hope Is Alive! Open Mic" will feature performances from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with interested participants advised to contact Christopher Diamond for sign-up details. Moreover, mini workshops on empowering language, mind-body medicine, and wellness recovery action plan will be held throughout the day.

The Minds Matter Mental Health Resource Fair is sponsored by the Shasta County Health and Human Services Agency, in collaboration with the Stand Against Stigma Committee and various community partners and advisory boards. Funding for the event is provided through the Mental Health Services Act.
