Fentanyl poisoning has become the leading cause of death for young adults in the United States, surpassing suicides, gun violence, and car accidents. Nearly 500 Californians are dying every month from fentanyl.
Senator Dahle emphasized that more must be done to deter the sale and trafficking of this deadly drug. California's 1st Senate District, represented by Senator Dahle, includes all or portions of 11 counties: Alpine, El Dorado, Lassen, Modoc, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sacramento, Sierra, Siskiyou, and Shasta. The district also serves deferred areas of Tehama, Butte, Colusa, and Glenn counties.
